Governing Board

Kirby Medical Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and does not have stockholders, but we do have stakeholders – that is individuals or groups that benefit from the hospital’s quality services. A hospital's stakeholders can include its patients, families and the larger community. Stakeholders also include employees, physicians, businesses and other community healthcare providers, all of which have an interest in seeing the hospital succeed.

Kirby Medical Center’s Governing Board consists of a group of dedicated and professional volunteer community members. As trustees, they represent the best interests of the hospital’s stakeholders, setting direction and goals by:

  • Adopting broad policies
  • Approving the strategic direction of the organization
  • Selecting and evaluating the chief executive
  • Evaluating the hospital’s performance
